Your Own Personal Style

I promise—It’s going to be okay! By the end of your boudoir shoot, you’ll feel confident in your own skin.

We want your images to be very much about you and your style—whatever your idea of sexy is!

First Things First
You do not have to wear lingerie to have a successful and beautiful boudoir shoot. If you want to, great! If you would rather stay clothed or would like a more modest shoot, that's completely fine too! Your photos will be equally as gorgeous. We want your images to be true to you.

Our Goal
To feature your unique beauty and style. Nothing is more important during this process than you discovering how beautiful you are right now, just as you are.

Don't Panic
We know it can be stressful figuring out what to wear for your shoot! That's why 1. We put together this guide 2. We invite you to a pre-shoot consult at the studio at which you can bring your current wardrobe for review, and 3. Natalie will choose the final outfits from all your options, so bring her 6-8 outfits so she can select the best!

Quick Tip
You can never go wrong with whatever you feel most comfortable in. Remember: sometimes the least lingerie-like things can be the sexiest!

Outfit Inspiration & Where to Shop for Your Session

Black & Nude Heels
Go with the basics, or get creative. Feel free to hit up your best friend's closet. And don't worry, we promise we won't make you walk in them.

Body Suit or LBD
A tight-fitting piece that follows (or exaggerates) the form of your body is a great piece to consider for your session . Whether it's a sexy shaper, a slip with built-in support, or your favorite dress for a night out on the town, bring us your sexiest, tightest pieces.

Bra & Panty Set
Classics are classics for a reason. You can go cute & playful with a brightly colored set, or sexy & sultry—with a strappy black set paired with thigh highs. You should bring at least one bra and panty set to your shoot, even if you're not comfortable showing your midsection. A set can still be featured laying down, or paired with an off the-shoulder top, sweater or lacy- robe. Avoid strong, graphic patterns.

Menswear
You absolutely can't go wrong· with a borrowed button-down shirt and tie from. your man's closet. We recommend his or your favorite basic shirt, nothing too crazy in the way of a pattern. Bonus points for a sentimental choice! Pick out a tie and bring some coordinating undies -  and you've got yourself the perfect outfit for your boudoir shoot.

Loungewear
Your favorite tee, sweater, or matching pajama set is likely to make for intimate and ultimately very ''YOU'' shots. For sweaters, something off-the shoulder is ideal. Any tee shirt of yours or his will do, just remember to bring· some undies that match or coordinate. A sweet white pajama set will show off a more feminine side, bonus points for something lacy and sheer.

HOw to show up

Tips on how to show up ready to shine

We want your images to be very much about you and your style—whatever your idea of sexy is!

Face
Arrive with clean, moisturized skin. It's ok if you must arrive with makeup on, but it's best if you are completely without.

Grooming

Remove any body hair that you do not want showing in your photographs. If you're not a fan on the Brazilian wax that's no problem, just make sure your bikini area is maintained. Shape your eyebrows how you like them, make sure your nails are clean and filed, and that polish isn't chipped.

Hair

If you regularly color or highlight your hair, make sure you schedule your shoot accordingly. Root/coloring issues are the toughest fixes in Photoshop, and not always possible. For the day of your shoot, arrive with slightly dirty hair, as freshly washed hair tends to be too slippery to style. Chrissy recommends arriving at your shoot with clean, dry hair.

What to Bring
We reccommend you always bring a pair of solid black, solid white & solid nude panties (any cut / material is fine!) and a pair of black pumps, and nude if you have them!

Here’s our hot list of clothing or accessories for your shoot:
• Sheer or open-knit sweater
• Your man's button-down shirt
• A slip: tight & body-shaping
• Your favorite flannel shirt
• A cute tank or tee shirt with boyshorts
• A favorite sports team jersey
• Matching bra and panty set
• Bridal accessories: veil, garter, jewelry
• Just jeans with thong showing
• Leather jacket with nothing underneath

Pamper & Glam

Hair & Makeup

On the day of your shoot we want you to feel pampered and gorgeous! When you arrive on the day of your shoot you will be handed a mimosa and whisked away to have your hair and makeup done. Chrissy from Special Occasion Hair Design will be in charge of making you feel like royalty.

In order for Chrissy and her team to work their magic, you should come with clean & moisturized skin, makeup free. We also ask that you do not wash your hair the day of your shoot, so that Chrissy has more texture to work with! Freshly washed hair can be too slippery to style.

Our goal is to help you look and feel like the best version of yourself - but still very much like you! Chrissy can do anything from a soft and natural 'Sunday morning' look, to dramatic 'Saturday night' glam, and anything in between. Hair & makeup is one of the key ways we will feature your own style and personality, and let your natural beauty shine through in your images.

Quick Tip: Schedule a night out on the day of your shoot, with your honey or the girls! You are going to look and feel absolutely phenomenal.

The power of posing

You don't need to worry about a thing: posing changes everything, and it's nothing you can't handle!

I expect my boudoir clients to have zero idea of what to do in front of my camera—that’s my job, not yours!

People always say that they aren't photogenic. They immediately tell us they always look awkward in front of the camera, and that they NEVER like photos of themselves. Here's the real question though: have you ever been photographed by a professional?

During your shoot, it's not your job to have any idea of what to do with your body in front of the camera. Your only job at that point is to be yourself and have fun. We are professionals with years of experience - and Natalie will tell you exactly what to do and how to do it every step of the way. She will direct you through poses that will best accentuate your body. All you need to do is listen! From subtle head turns, to moving your arms a certain way, posing has a lot to do with how you look in a photo. Lucky for you, we have it completely under control.

Maybe you've never liked yourself in photos before - don't let that determine how you see yourself! Before you let that fear stop you from booking a boudoir session, let me tell you: being photographed by a professional with 10 years of experience makes all the difference! A thorough understanding of the human body and how each curve photographs allows for you to look your absolute best in every image. You will be posed in order to flatter all of your favorite features, as well as make all of your least favorite features harder for you to pick on.

Editing

We hate the idea of before & afters because the woman before isn’t less than the woman after.

Retouching is not about the before and after. It is definitely not about turning you into someone you're not. Retouching is about making sure your beautiful & sexy personality is the only thing coming through in these photos. The goal is not to make you wish you were the "after" woman, it is to make you realize how beautiful you truly are by taking away your ability to only see the blemishes.
